When you enroll in GlassClass, you have an enormous amount of freedom to decide which direction to take.

I teach traditional copper foil & lead techniques, as well as work in brass, zinc, tiffany style lampshades, glass fusing, slumping and lampwork (making beads on a torch).

 

GlassClass is run on a continuous basis. You do not have to take your classes consecutively. You are free to switch days as your schedule permits.

 

GlassClass Cost:

Six, two-hour classes for $150. In addition, you will purchase your glass cutter, glass pliers, and the materials you need to make your project. Your fee includes: instruction, pattern making materials, use of all studio grinders, saws, soldering irons & specialty tools. If you are doing glass fusing, extra kiln firing charges apply. Ask for a list of firing fees.

Tuesday:  

Session One: 10:00 am - Noon

Session Two: 12:30 - 2:30 pm
Evening: 6:30 - 8:30 pm

 

   Wednesday:

SPECIAL 2012 JEWELRY "SECRETS" WORKSHOP

$150 for 3 hour intensive workshop - all materials included.

During this workshop you will learn how to:

  • Create sparkling dichroic jewelry - and make 3 pair of earrings or 3 small pendants for yourself
  • Create beautiful jewelry from "wasser glass" - and make 2 pair of earrings or 2 small pendants
  • Create elegant pendants with dichroic accents from "wasser glass" - and make 2 pendants
  • Learn how to make a dichroic jewelry bar (demo only). Pre-made dichroic bars will be available for you to cut and make an incredible pendant from this amazing technique.
  • How to use "dichro slide" and/or "metallic decals" in jewelry making. Create one piece in this method.

Some pieces will be fired during the workshop. The rest of your pieces will be fired and ready for pick up the next day. Your work can also be shipped to you ($10 shipping charge per package/address - can include more than one person's items and share one shipment). All findings (silver plate, gold plate, surgical steel) are included in the price. One necklace wire is provided, other wires are available for purchase.

 

Note: at the end of the workshop, you will have created NINE pieces or sets!

 

Firing schedules for all techniques will be provided so you can recreate this in your own kiln, if desired. Jewel box kilns will be offered at a discount.

 

Class runs from January - November 2012. Class times are:

 

First Saturday of each month : Noon - 3pm

First Thursday of each month : 6:30 - 9:30 PM

Third Sunday of each month : Noon - 3pm

Third Thursday of each month : 6:30 - 9:30 PM

 

SPECIAL 2012 WORKSHOPS IN GLASS FUSING

$60 for 1.5 hour fusing workshop - all materials included.

You will be able to choose from a variety of projects:

  • (1) 6" x 6" candy dish
  • (1) 7" x 7" candy dish or small serving dish
  • (4) 3.25" x 3.25" condiment dishes or useful for rings & earrings
  • (1) 5.5" x 5.5" dish with (1) 3.25" x 3.25" dish

Nice offering of colored pieces, stringers and dichroic glass accents for your artwork. Other shapes and projects may be available. Each project will be fired and shaped to perfection!

 

In your workshop you will learn how to use a variety of machines to cut and shape your glass. There will also be pre-cut shapes and stringers available for decoration.
